Amy Cassidy
Houston area artist, Amy Cassidy, has been honing her skills her entire life. As a third-generation artist, creativity was always encouraged, allowing her to find her own style. She started her art journey at the knee of her classically trained grandmother, learning to blend colors and to see beyond what the naked eye can see. Today, she continues to learn and grow every day, expanding her knowledge and experiences by studying under local artists and learning about different mediums.
Her art is colorful, fluid and jewel toned. Working in layers of ink, acrylic, resin and oil, her art has a 3D aspect that draws the eye in and allows the mind to escape the realities of everyday life. She is continually evolving and incorporating new techniques- pushing the envelope.
Her art is gracing the walls of private collectors and commercial installations throughout the nation. Her most recent commercial installation of 7 original works can be found at the Baylor College of Medicine, Dan L Duncan Cancer Center.
Amy is an advocate of art in public spaces and giving emerging artist an opportunity to show and grow in the community. She works with the Sugar Land Art Center & Gallery, a non-profit art organization, to help educate and promote the arts locally.
She is currently represented by Perimeter Art Gallery in Houston's historic Rice Village and Affaire d’Art in Galveston Texas.
